Our premises and animals
Our nature and forest kindergarten at the Samainhof has a lot to offer.
The kindergarten is surrounded by the impressive nature around our farm and the many animals that live here with us.
Our colorful animal world consists of many animals. Almost 100 Icelandic horses live with us, as well as Scottish highland cattle, donkeys, goats, chickens, peacocks, cats, rabbits, a dog, a pond full of fish, newts and toads, including a buzzard that recently built its nest with us many others, too.
In the midst of the diversity of the farm is our small, cozy wooden kindergarten building with an extension and the children's kitchen.
There are all kinds of natural materials and Montessori material available for our children to play, learn and experience.
The house offers us shelter and warmth when it gets too cold in winter or the little ones get tired and need a place to rest.
There is also our large, impressive tree house that has room for all our children, where we find a roof and shelter when it's a very rainy morning. It has a balcony overlooking our horse pastures from which we can watch our horses.
Between the tree house and the pasture there is an orchard where we can pick apples and plums in the fall. Next to it is our tipi with its own fireplace, where many a cool day turns into a wonderful morning around a campfire, a special highlight for the children.
Of course, the kindergarten also has its favorite places in nature, to which we often hike.
For example, there is our small forest pasture, a large meadow on the slope with an island of trees and rocks, a wonderful place where the children always discover a lot and many a fox and some deer pass before our eyes.
Then there is also the "small gorge" above our farm. This canyon is at the top of the mountain in the forest, between the rocks. It is 1.20 cm deep and meanders along the slope. Here you will find all kinds of tunnels and caves that the children built themselves, a real experience for everyone.
There is still so much to tell and to describe. You have to experience it yourself. One thing is for sure, here one would like to be a child again!
